The Project
September 4, 2015The goal of this project is to explore how our skin tells our unique story. We quickly form a notion of who someone is based on the colour (ethnicity), texture (age) and whether they rebel against or conform to current notions of beauty based on their geographic location, culture and religion. How much skin we hide or reveal can also say a lot about us. Scars tell stories of trauma, triumph or embarrassment. Some see our future in the lines of our palms while others show their past in the roughness of their hands. It is our largest organ. It allows us to experience the sense of touch. It protects us. It has allowed us to adapt and survive anywhere on the planet. It is unique, down to our fingerprints. It contains our story, for all to see.
